I am extremely grateful for our local firemen and concerned neighbors.  Monday morning, before dawn, the phone rang and our next door neighbor was calling to alert us to a raging fire on the property next to ours.  I don’t know the details, just that a residence burned to the ground and we were all left with the thought, “. . . that could have been us.” 
We live in a very rural neighborhood, with no fire hydrants, BUT, we do have a great Fire Department!  I am so grateful to my neighbor for picking up that phone and alerting us to what could easily have been a life-changing event for all of us.  My prayers go out to the family who lost their home and I hope, if anyone was home at the time, that everyone made it out safe and unharmed . . . And to those brave firemen who fought and contained the blaze, “Thank YOU!”
